Recently I came across a post for a cabin crew in the middle east, the company posting was slipstream aviation out of the UK.

 

I could find nothing on them and I asked several UK friends to see what they could find…nothing.

 

On Sunday I received a call from them and was given a phone and Yahoo interview.   I was told that I was one of 4 who were short-listed.  I was invited to an interview in Dubai.

 

Then the conversation got strange, when I told the gentleman that there have been several scams concerning corporate flight attendants, he seemed to become uncomfy.  When I asked him about transportation to Dubai for the interview he said that there was a "provision for air transportation fees".

 

So, I still have this on my "BEWARE" list.   But, if anyone has any additional info or feedback, let me know!  I did post this job on my blog, but did so with hesitation!

Very weird!

I did some looking around and turned up Slipstream Virtual Airways which tells you right off the bat that this is a "dummy" or fun set up, probably someone's hobby at home.

I'm supposing that this is one and the same because Bobby Allison, the CEO, lists Dubai as a destination. But I'm also thinking that someone unrelated to this virtual airline is using Slipstream as a way to scam people.

You're smart to be suspicious immediately. This situation reminds me of another operation that preyed on corporate flight attendants with commercial experience some years back. People actually went for training but were never reimbursed for it.

Of course, that gig never happened either.

No, it was not this guy, they were out of Basingstroke in the UK and the person I spoke with was a Michael Dimitris….is this familiar to anyone…

 

For me, it was just tooooooo not real.   In particular since the call was on a Sunday morning and when I started to ask too many questions….he was late for church!
